Team Sport- serving, communication and space

Practical Team Sport

Serving
As a team we can do basic drill such as standing in two teams on either side of the net and simply hit the ball across. To get more power in our sever, we can   practice by going in pairs and serving to each other starting at a shorter distance and increasing every time to get used to it if you aren't able to get the ball across straight away.
Communication
Before starting a game our team must talk through the roles which everyone will be playing. This will allow us to have a clear spacing so that the area of the court is filled. To practice communication during a game, we can have a friendly game either 3 v 3 or 4 v 4… and the aim is that every time you go for the ball you have to communicate with your team that you are going to set the ball to someone. Every time that someone doesn't they loose a point ( out of 5 ) and once they have lost all their life's they are out of the game.
 Space
Whilst playing it’s important that everyone has an area which they are protecting to make for the opposite team don’t have any surface are to spike into. A drill which could help is again a friendly game in small teams, on either side mark with cons the area which someone has to protect and if they let the ball hit the floor then they lose a point ( out of 5). We could start off by sitting then progressing to on knees and standing.
